Contour

Restylane® Contour is part of the Restylane® family and is a filler especially formulated for cheeks and specifically to maintain natural movement and facial expressions.

What is Restylane® Contour?

Restylane® Contour is a new dermal filler on the market recently approved by the FDA in 2021 that adds shape and volume to cheeks. It’s made from hyaluronic acid which is a naturally occurring, moisture holding substance that can be found in all living cells and in fluids such as in the eyes and joints. Cheeks and the face naturally lose volume as we age. Contour was formulated to combat this by adding volume to correct sags and wrinkles. It also enhances cheeks by improving contour and definition.

Why Choose Contour

Many physicians consider Contour a game changer due to its ability to maintain a natural looking appearance. Faces can look refreshed and subtlety rejuvenated without the alien look some fillers tend to create. The filler also moves naturally with your muscle movement so facial expressions remain dynamic and natural. This is due to Restylane’s XpresHAn Technology™ which basically makes the gel extremely viscous and flexible. The flexibility of the gel enables it to move with your muscle movement so facial expressions remain natural. It also requires 15% less gel than other fillers to achieve the same results, so gel application is a little more lightweight than other fillers.

What Should I Expect With Treatment?

How long does Restylane® Contour last?

Restylane® Contour boasts long lasting results from an application. Most patients enjoy their results for up to a year after treatment.

Do Contour injections hurt?
No, we use the anesthetic lidocaine to numb the area prior to the injection so no discomfort is felt while the injection is administered.
What are the potential side effects?
Some patients can experience redness, inflammation, lump formation and itching from the injection. These effects don’t last long and disappear within a few days. The side effects are similar to any hyaluronic acid injection.
What is the difference between Juvederm Voluma and Restylane Contour?
The main difference is the viscosity of the gel. Juvederm Voluma is designed for lift and to hold its shape while Restylane Contour is designed to move with muscles for natural facial expressions.
